Center to Center Rod Bore Correction
Center to Center Rod boring is a blueprint specialty not available in many shops and we would be happy to handle this precision job
for you. While the word blueprint is used this process is critical for any engine that uses bushings.
When you resize the big end of a rod the Center to Center is changed and must be corrected or all of your blueprinting efforts have been for naught. The only way to do this accurately is with a specially designed machine.
It should be noted that simply changing pin bushings will throw off the center to center distance. This center to center correction is critical to any stock or racing engine.
Our equipment features air centering which is incredibly accurate.
We will hold center to center distances to -0.001 / +.000 of the length desired.
A related benefit to correcting the center to center is that any slight bend and twist that naturally occurs is corrected. This ensures that your rod is not influencing the bearings or the pistons. This also lengthens the life of your other parts and eliminates friction.
