Promotion & Publicity of the Nitrous Master Software Team

Postby Eric David Bru » Thu Jan 11, 2007 9:16 pm

Dave,

What is the proper procedure for promoting the Nitrous Master Software and this message board?

Things have been a bit quiet lately and with the number of Nitrous Master users there should be quite a bit more traffic.

Can I post a link to this board on various sites? If so, is this the correct link to use:

http://www.koehlerinjection.com/phpBB2/index.php

Also, is the http://www.nitrousmaster.com website likely to make a comeback or should I refer folks to http://www.koehlerinjection.com/Koehler ... master.htm

Thanks
EDB

1: Thanks for the effort Eric. The little curmudgeon appreciates it.

2: This board is private. Only those with the nitrous master get in. That's part of what you pay for. The idea of it was that a person would not be afraid of being put down for asking a question or throwing out a bizarre tuning idea.
Going public kind of defeats the privacy issue. I suppose if a majority wanted to go public I could. I just don't want to have to spend time dealing with the idiots and vultures of cyberspace that tend to circle.

3: It might be a little livelier if the other several hundred license holders would check in. Don't know why they don't. Maybe everyone knows all there is to know. I sure don't.

4: The Nitrousmaster.com name is being held by an slime ball for extortion. The renewal date slipped by me and he thinks I should pay him to get it back.

5: Easiest referall would be www.koehlerinjection.com

Thanks again to you and all the others that help push the little guy.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear Dave, I didn't mean that the board should go public, I like the members-only basis, I just wish that more members would check in.

If I posted a link to the Index of this board guests could only look at what you allow them to.

You could advertise the software in that area of the board and link it back to your main website for them to buy it.

Silly question, but have you checked into buying www.nitrousmaster.biz .net .us et al?

www.godaddy.com has several different variations available.

Just food for thought, for now I will promote the board using the link you posted.

Dave - that guy that snagged your domain is a big gun and does that in bulk, they make big time $$$,$$$,$$$ doing that. Don't hate the player hate the game lol. I would guess that an offer of $500 "might" get it back.

I suppose it really is not a problem to advertise the board. Thinking along those lines I could put a link on the regular web site. That way those of us that lose their way can find their way back. :D

I have to turn down a few non nitrous masters already that find their way here. I guess I was trying to keep that chore to a minimum.

Thanks for the feed back. Will ponder and listen to anyone else that wants to add to this.

Dave and Guys:

I don't know if I speak for everyone that doesn't post (a lot), but, I enjoy the exchange of information in the private format. I understand what Eric is saying.

What I mean is: I feel that the information is not tainted by some ulterior motive: i.e. ego, sales, etc. (Other that you, Dave. )

I also don't feel that I have a lot to contribute above what you "faster" guys have given. I have not had a great deal of time to play with my toys over the past couple of years, however, I feel better prepared to run faster when the opportunity arises.

Hopefully, this year will allow me to test more and even race a bit more.

I thank everyone that contributes and hope I may in the future.

My vote would be to leave it private and enjoy the quiet over the mayhem that occurs on the open forums.

Now Dave, don't laugh...

What do you think about possibly giving a copy of the software to a couple of the various hot rod shows that are on Saturday and Sunday mornings?

I would think that for the cost of 2-3 CDs and a little time showing them folks how to work it you could get a ton of "free" advertising.

OK, now you can laugh if you want too.

Eric,
I just noticed this old thread. The TV thing sounds like a good idea but it scares me. Those car guys don't give me the impression that they actually think. I have also heard a few stories from nitrous mfgs after the fact that make me shudder. The only guy that looks like he might actually get his hands dirty and think about what he is doing is the Trucks dude and it's not real applicable. Can you imagine turning Boyd or the American Chopper guys loose with a nitrous kit? Boom shaka laka.
